One evening in 2012, Martin Guay, Igloo Creations’ cofounder, was riding his mountain bike in Vallée Bras-du-Nord. It was getting dark and Martin had to get back to his car while he could still see where he was going. However, he had no idea whether it was faster to turnaround or to continue on the same path. Looking at the Vallée’s map did not help him as he did not know his precise location on the map. He would have needed an interactive map showing his GPS location. That is where the idea of creating Ondago came from!
The Vallée Bras-du-Nord has always been important in Ondago’s history as it was also one of the first places to publish its map in Ondago and to encourage its visitors to use it. The Vallée offers many outdoor activities such as mountain biking, hiking, snowshoeing, a river run, canyoning, Via Ferrata, Fat Bike and back-country skiing. It is also possible to rent a yurt, a shelter or a campground to stay for the night.
